Audi viert zijn tiende overwinning van de 24 uur van Le Mans met een Limited Edition van de R8 V8 Coupé. De auto wordt in een beperkte oplage van slechts 100 stuks gebouwd.

De feestversie onderscheidt zich met een bijzondere titanium-look exterieurkleur, dito 19-inch lichtmetalen wielen, geïnspireerd op de R8 GT, en rode remtangen. Tegen meerprijs wordt het Carbon Package geleverd. De sideblades, buitenspiegels en het frame rondom de motorruimte wordt dan in een koolstofvezel-look uitgevoerd.

Binnenin zien we een zwart/rood nappa lederen interior, afgewerkt met rode stiknaden, een navigatiesysteem, een Bang & Olufsen geluidsinstallatie en een Bluetooth hands freesysteem met in de veiligheidsgordel verwerkte microfoons.

Motorisch is de R8 V8 Limited Edition eender aan de gewone R8 V8. Ook de feestversie snelt in 4,6 naar de honderd en haalt een top van 300 km/h. Geïnteresseerden in de R8 Limited Edition kunnen zich wellicht melden bij de Britse importeur. Alle honderd exemplaren zijn namelijk bestemd voor Groot-Brittannië.

To celebrate this year’s Audi for the 10th time the 24 hours of Le Mans wins is a very tasty special design on the market.

This special version is for once not based on the R8 V10 , but just the same old R8 4.2 V8 in the back. 100 copies will be supplied and you can leave R8 include spraying with titanium in a shade effect. The 19 “wide rims are painted the same color behind it and you see bright red brake calipers ( as with the R8 GT ).

In the interior, the red regularly. We see red stitching and certain parts of the interior with red leather finish, because that obviously puts so good against that boring black leather. Fortunately, there is the option to choose a package which also includes carbon from carbon fiber side blades, and a mirror cover for the engine.

We have all seen our fair share of matte black and pink wraps lately. Of course, those colors seem to be pretty ordinary when pinned up against the latest wrap craze. What’s hotter than a matte black wrap? Well, to some owners, it would be the rich color of gold. The last sports car featuring this new trend was the Audi R8 spotted in Moscow, Russia. Maybe the gold wrapping is no longer as unique as it once was considering we have seen plenty of cars with a golden touch. Until now we have seen a golden Ferrari Enzo, a golden Bugatti Veyron and a golden Ferrari 599 GTB by Hamann. We just hope that people will not believe the wrap to be real gold so the Audi R8 doesn’t see the same fate as did a golden Porsche that was stolen last year in Moscow.

The Audi R8 features a mid-mounted V8 FSI engine, quattro permanent four-wheel drive, and Audi Space Frame aluminum body. The engine delivers a total of 420 HP and sprints the car from 0 to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds and can hit a top speed of 187 mph.

R8 supercar has caused quite a stir with its V8 and V10 gas variants, but Audi thought it would change things around by adding a V12 diesel into the mix for good measure. This R8 concept car deviates wildly from traditional gas-powered sports cars, but with a race-proven turbocharged diesel it might be one of the most promising exotic concept cars ever created.

Power for the concept comes from the automakers race-derived 6.0 liter V12 diesel motor, which was first used in the R10 Le Mans competition car, and is now available in the Audi Q7. The engine produces 500 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque. The peak torque, reached at only 1,750 rpm.

The car sprints to 62 mph in 4.2 seconds, according to Audi. Like most German automakers, Audi is probably reporting a very conservative acceleration time for this car.Other highlights of the show car include a glass roof, an increased use of carbon fiber, revised front and rear aprons, and larger air intakes all around.

The car also features all-LED headlights, which are visually very appealing, not to mention very energy efficient and bright. With a color temperature of 6,000 Kelvin, the light emitted resembles daylight much more closely than xenon or even halogen light.

Earlier reports suggested that Audi would equip the R8 with a diesel engine for the 2009 model year, but the latest word is that the TDI R8 may never make it into production. Audi engineers are reporting that fitting the turbochargers into the allotted space is proving impossible, and the costs associated with making it fit would make it impossible for Audi to ever turn a profit from a TDI R8.

RENM Performance also announced that a supercharger kit for the 4.2 V8 is also available that can produce 523 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque.

Renm Performance recently released a new styling and performance upgrade package for the Audi R8 Enigma. Featuring the Audi R8 V10, Renm Performance received the 2010 World Performance Car Award and released their upgrade package the same year. To get into the exterior visual upgrades, Renm’s performance fitted tuning their Audi R8 Enigma with various carbon fiber elements along with seamless integration. Also included in their upgrade package is a set of lightweight carbon fiber forged wheels, and a carbon front lip with optional rear diffuser.

RENM Performance, a car tuning company in Melbourne Australia, have created custom kits for the Audi R8 V8 and V10 models. The Audi R8 equipped with the 4.2 V8 engine got an increase of 39 horses and 26 lb-ft of torque over the stock model (the boosted model produces 454 horsepower and 343 lb-ft of torque). It also features an ECU recalibration, a carbon fibre air-intake and a performance exhaust.

The 5.2 V10 version develops 565 PS (415 KW) 560 NM with a simple ECU re-calibration alone. By adding high-flow sports air filters and performance exhaust system, peak-power for the 5.2 V10 increases to 600 PS (441 KW) 585 NM.

High-performance exhaust valves are operated via remote control, allowing the user to select between cruise, sport or open modes. The tuning program includes 20-inch light weight carbon fibre/forged wheels, carbon fibre/alacantra steering wheel and carbon fibre interior upgrades. A carbon fibre front lip and rear diffuser are optional extras.

A supercharger kit for the 4.2 V8 is available, and when combined with other engine upgrades, increases total output to an impressive 530 PS (390KW) 600NM. Uprated brakes, including 8-pot front and 6-pot rear calipers are fitted to accomodate the additional power. Other options include race suspension kits or race hydraulic lift systems.

It goes without saying that exhaust systems are the domain of Eisenmann. The Spark Eight by Eisenmann is fitted with a performance stainless steal system, with a gigantic tailpipe exit in the center of the rear spoiler (4600 Euro). This warrants a one-of-a-kind visual effect. Thanks to the flap control system, sound and optimal performance can be controlled with the push of a button. As an alternative Eisenmann offers an exhaust system with four stainless steel tailpipes (3800 Euro) that can be combined with the standard rear spoiler. The retro-classic intake funnel (1200 Euro) and the two oval tailpipes (1000 Euro) provide the look of the R10.

Eisenmann also ensures that the improved chassis matches the upgrade of visual effect and sound. The new shock absorbers with four performance springs (3850 Euro) increase the driving dynamic for even more agile handling characteristics. The 235/35 (front) and 315/30 (rear) tyres mounted on 8.5x19 inch alloy wheels ensure a solid grip (complete set available for 7300 Euro).

For the Spark Eight by Eisenmann, visual appearance, sound and performance enter into a perfect symbiosis. All of the above is based on experience Eisenmann has amassed in motoring. Many years of research and development for racetracks and motorways alike have merged into an unrivaled project.
